One of our triathletes, George Thornton, does a commemorative swim on major birthdays. Here are pictures from his 2005 65 65's on the :65. George did this swim with TJ Scholand at the EPIC pool in Fort Collins. To get the length correct, George constructed a temporary bulkhead that shortened his lane to 65 feet. Three lengths makes 65 yards.

George's wife, Louise, was the official timer. Both George and Louise are long time Vortex swimmers. They live on a lake in north Fort Collins. In the summer time George and Louise sponsor weekend lake swims for local triathletes. George is also one of the organizers of the Horsetooth Wingshadow 10K swim
